THE STORY OF SPRUCE

Carrie Martin, Ed.M., Founder

Spruce Home Organization was launched in 2019 by me - Carrie Martin!

Spruce represents putting a name and purpose to something I've been doing all my adult life: gleefully tackling projects that require every kind of organization.  Which hat to choose?

  • As a preschool teacher, I loved setting up areas in my classroom and watching the magic unfold!
  • As a homeowner, I've relocated multiple times, most recently from a 3000 square foot home to one with 1200 square feet of living space,  no attic, basement or garage.  This was my ultimate downsizing and decluttering challenge!
  • As a professional working in association management and event planning, I face the demands of paper and digital management daily while juggling multiple projects and events.
  • As a mom, I coordinate the lives of three active children including the annual relocation of the oldest to college.

But what is most near and dear to my heart is the simple act of cleaning out a closet, a drawer, or even that dreaded space under the sink.  Pull it all out... consider what to keep, what to sell, what to toss... select how to arrange, contain and access items... and reap the satisfaction of the finished results.  I am proudly passionate about organization!

With a background in psychology and education, I strive to bring listening and coaching skills to working with you on organization projects of any kind - whether organizing objects, papers or simply your time.

Professional organizers are personal trainers for you and all your stuff.  Just as not everyone can motivate themselves to get to the gym, not everyone can get motivated to get organized!  So many of us know how to be organized but get overwhelmed by where to start or how to persist on a big project.  As a professional organizer, I am a partner to keep you on track and working toward a solution that will work for you.

Let's make a plan and get started!
